Anne’s research interests are related to the conservation and restoration of tidal salt marshes and mangrove ecosystems, particularly the human impact on these environments. She is currently working on her honours project titled ‘The blue carbon benefits of restoring a degraded coastal wetland’. This project will look at the potential blue carbon and other ecosystem benefits of restoring a decommissioned salt works in Port Phillip Bay. Blue carbon ecosystems when degraded become a source of CO2, emitting carbon into the atmosphere. The study will involve working with Parks Victoria and may assist in their future management of this site.
