My research interests include hydrology, biogeochemistry, and watershed response to natural and anthropogenic disturbance. I seek to understand the complex dynamics between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and their surrounding environments across spatial and temporal scales. Currently, I am working on modeling carbon sources and sinks in wetland ecosystems of Southeastern Australia. The aim of this project is to identify long-term carbon storage by analyzing carbon sequestration rates of various inland wetland ecosystems. Further research is required to determine if these systems are carbon sinks and to predict wetland carbon emission responses to different ecological conditions. This connection must be studied to gather knowledge of its significance, and to provide information for better wetland ecosystem management practices.
